Start with the customer and the offer
Before using AI to write twenty posts, answer four questions: Who do you serve? What problem do they have? Why should they choose your offer? What can you genuinely deliver?
AI can help test the clarity of those answers. It should not invent testimonials, client outcomes, qualifications or market research. If your positioning is unclear, fast content production multiplies the uncertainty.
Four worthwhile applications
- Marketing planning. Give an assistant an approved audience description and offer. Ask it to suggest different customer questions to address. Verify those questions using real enquiries, interviews and search data rather than accepting them as proven demand.
- Content preparation. Draft an article structure, edit a script or suggest alternative explanations. Check every statistic, claim and source. Rewrite anything that sounds unlike your business. Original examples and informed judgement matter more than output volume.
- Sales preparation. Practise a fictional objection or build a discovery checklist. Use actual, authorised product information. Never confuse a role-play response with evidence that a buyer will act that way.
- Pipeline review. Analyse de-identified or appropriately authorised opportunity data for missing next actions and ageing stages. Confirm calculations, remove duplicates and check whether records are current before making decisions.

Worked example: enquiries but few decisions
Fictional example. A regional service business receives 25 suitable enquiries in a month. Twelve get proposals, and only four progress to an agreed next decision. The owner initially wants AI to generate more advertising.
Instead, the business reviews anonymised sample records and uses AI to suggest possible handover questions. The review reveals missing scope information and unclear next actions. Staff test a clearer qualification form and follow-up standard before spending on additional leads.
The AI did not discover the true cause independently. It helped organise a hypothesis that the people running the business investigated.
Should AI write all your content?
No. AI can accelerate preparation, but generic posts rarely explain why your business is different. Your customer evidence, expert opinion and real working examples provide the value. A human should approve claims, tone, pricing and promises before publication.
For SEO and AI search discoverability, publish material that genuinely answers the question. Use descriptive headings, relevant internal links and accurate authorship. Search engines do not promise rankings or AI citations in return for high publishing volume.
When not to automate sales
Be cautious with unsolicited outreach, personal profiling, automated messaging and any claims made on behalf of the business. Platform rules, Australian spam and privacy obligations, consent, customer expectations and reputational risk all matter. An AI-generated email does not create permission to contact someone.

Your notes stay on this page unless you choose device saving, download them or submit them to Greg below.
Keep names, private customer details and confidential information out of your notes. Device saving is optional. Only the separate Send my lesson work button below sends anything to Greg. There is no account or cross-device sync.
Two questions before you move on
These checks support learning. They do not assess business health, award a qualification or send a result to Greg.

Questions this lesson answers
Can AI help me get more customers?
It can support better targeting, communication and follow-up. It cannot guarantee customers, and it should not replace customer research or a credible offer.
Can I use AI to write social media posts?
Yes, as a drafting tool. Check originality, factual claims, brand voice, permissions and whether the post gives your audience a useful reason to care.
Work out where your business is getting stuck
